Whiteley Wanderers Club History

Katie and Stuart Gray founded Whiteley Wanderers Youth Football Club in 1998 with 1 youth team.

When Katie and Stuart Gray moved on in 2001, the Chairman’s role was taken on by Clint Shephard until 2003, after which Phil Moores became Chairman. Ian Binks then took on the Chairman’s role in 2008.

The club was awarded Community Charter status in 2011 and in the 2014-2015 season Hampshire FA awarded the club the Charter Standard Community Club of the Year.

Kevin Fisher took over the Chairman role in 2015 and Bob Galpin then became Chairman in 2017.

The Club celebrated their 20th Anniversary in 2018.

In 2019 Bob handed over to the current Chairman Steve Davies.

The Club currently run development sessions for both younger boys and girls and have 25 youth teams, including 6 girls teams, and 3 adult mens teams all playing across 6 different leagues.

There are also over 80 volunteer managers, coaches, helpers and committee members who all give up their time freely to provide grassroots football for local children and adults.
