Our Champions

Whiteley Wanderers are proud to share our safeguarding efforts, spearheaded by three committed members who form our Safeguarding Champions team. Learn more about our champions below.

Our Safeguarding Champions, have received specialised training, and advocate for and enhance safeguarding practices within our Club. They are readily available to address any safeguarding inquiries or assist with any concerns.

Our Duty of Care

We recognize our duty to ensure the wellbeing and safety of all vulnerable individuals under our care or utilizing our facilities. It’s the responsibility of every adult involved with the club to protect the welfare of these groups by fostering a safe environment free from harm. The safety and wellbeing of vulnerable individuals are of utmost importance to all staff members.

Safeguarding is essential to ensure a safe and positive environment for everyone involved.

Areas of Interest

Below are some of the areas we focus on to ensure EVERYONE at our club are safe.

Child Protection

This area focuses on protecting children and young people from abuse and maltreatment, ensuring they grow up with safe and effective care, and are provided an environment that allows for their health, development, and wellbeing.

Vulnerable Adult Protection

Similar to child protection, this focuses on safeguarding adults who may be in need of special care, support, or protection because of age, disability, or risk of abuse or neglect.

Bullying Prevention

Addressing and preventing bullying, including cyberbullying, is crucial. This involves creating strategies to identify and stop bullying behavior and promoting a culture of respect and kindness.

Online Safety

As digital platforms become increasingly integrated into daily life, safeguarding in the digital realm is essential. This includes educating and monitoring to prevent cyberbullying, exposure to inappropriate content, and online grooming.

Equality and Inclusion

Ensuring that all individuals, regardless of their background, ability, or identity, have equal access and opportunities in the club. This includes creating an inclusive environment that celebrates diversity and combats discrimination.

Health and Safety

This encompasses the physical safety of all club members, including risk assessments, safe facilities and equipment, first aid, and protection from physical harm or injury.
